The Book Your Church Doesn’t Want You to Read by Tim C. Leedom & Friends

Merits: This book is an anthology that includes contributions from theologians, historians and researchers with Tim C. Leedom editing. Even Thomas Jefferson makes a contribution.

Material: This book is wide in scope but focused in terms of intent which is to present a biblical critique using archaeological evidence, historical fact, and philosophical thought. It talks about the large number of historical messianic characters other than Jesus and his striking similarity to pre-existing mythological characters such as Mithras, Horus, and Krishna. It talks about the significant number of re-translations the Bible has undergone and how this has warped the versions in common use today. It covers the contractions between the Gospels, primarily between Luke and the other three. It covers many things, none of which you’re likely to be taught by mainstream institutionalized religion.

Grade: Antichrist. This book douses self-perpetuated mythology in gasoline and lights a match. A win for religious literacy. A loss for fundamentalism and Sunday school theology.
